AWS series from Atlas Copco
The AWS series from Atlas Copco includes 22 liquid ring vacuum pumps. They span a wide range of pumping speeds from 168 to 26,000 m³/h. Depending on the model, an ultimate pressure of down to 33 mbar is reached.
The operating principle is the same for all sizes: an impeller sets the operating liquid in rotation, and the ring formed in this way compresses the gas drawn in almost isothermally. This makes the pumps suitable for wet, vapour-laden or temperature-sensitive media. They are used, for example, in the chemical industry, for degassing, in filtration plants and in paper production.
