The EHR/SHR series from Edwards comprises nine liquid ring vacuum pumps, three of them designated EHR and six SHR. Together they cover pumping speeds from 190.8 m³/h to 4,500 m³/h. The ultimate pressure is 30 mbar for all models; the rated motor power ranges from 5.5 to 132 kW.
In this type of pump, an eccentrically mounted impeller rotates in a ring of operating liquid, usually water, which seals the cells and at the same time absorbs the heat of compression. Moist, vapour-laden or contaminated gases can therefore be conveyed well. Accordingly, such pumps are frequently found in the chemical industry, paper production, food processing and power plant engineering.
