The nXRi series from Edwards consists of five Roots vacuum pumps with pumping speeds of 30, 40, 60, 90 and 120 m³/h. All models from the nXR30i to the nXR120i reach an ultimate pressure of 0.03 mbar.
Several Roots stages arranged in series compress the gas dry and without contact up to atmospheric pressure. As no seals rub against each other in the pumping chamber, there is hardly any abrasion, and the vacuum remains free of oil and particles. The pumps are used as backing pumps for turbomolecular pumps, in analytical instruments, in coating systems and in research laboratories.
