Screw compressors

A screw compressor generates compressed air with two intermeshing screw rotors. The air drawn in is enclosed in the flights of the rotors, transported to the pressure side and steadily compressed in the process. The delivery flow is uniform, and there are no valves in the compression chamber.

Screw compressors are built for continuous operation and run comparatively quietly. They supply plants with process and working air where a constant volume flow over long running times is required. Depending on the design, maintenance includes filters, oil and separator elements.
