Because vanes wear in operation, checking their height is part of regular maintenance. The wear limit is reached when the height is below the minimum height of 28 mm; replacement is then necessary. Typical earlier warning signs are falling ultimate pressure, less flow and increasing noise. Follow the pump’s operating manual for the inspection interval.
