The vanes wear down over the operating hours. If the measured height is below the minimum height specified by the pump manufacturer, the wear limit has been reached and the set should be changed. Further signs are a weaker ultimate pressure, lower flow and louder running noise. The pump’s operating manual states how often the vanes should be checked.
